Project 365: Environmental Portraits Month 1/2

It’s been a busy month. I’ve been updating my website and building an all new site, called The Camping Cook, in my spare time. I also completed the first portion of my Viva Travel Guides assignment. The busy schedule continues, as I have my first magazine assignment due in a few weeks for South American Explorer magazine, the second portion of the guidebook assignment, the two sites, and a self-induced decision to take greater control of my travel photography future by putting more time and effort into both the business side of things and the shooting. With all of that said, I’ve also been shooting my 365 project everyday (obviously). This month’s theme is Environmental Portraits and I decided to post a halfway report to share some images with you before the end of the month. Enjoy:

Biggest Lesson of the Two Weeks: Environmental portraits are fun to shoot. While I still have a slight hesitation every time I ask to take somebody’s portrait, I’m always amazed at how few people refuse. Not all of this month’s images are true keepers, but its amazing to see how much a face can make an ordinary photo extraordinary. People photography is the best part of travel photography. Lesson learned.
